Our sister agency within this department is the Chapel Hil/Orange County Visitors Bureau. The Arts Commission works to develop the arts in Orange County, North Carolina, which includes the townships of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, &amp;amp; Hillsborough. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Salons are free, for artists of all kinds - performing, visual, literary, whatever! Come to meet, network, and build a better arts environment for all Orange County Artists.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The topic for August is “North Carolina Songwriters Co-Op”. The leadership group has spent the last three months, meeting bi-weekly as a large group and additionally as committees of marketing, management-organization and finance, drafting a business plan to help in determining the feasibility of such a venture. Most lessons take about 30 minutes to complete.  The lessons integrate language arts, social studies, science and visual art, and many offer specific prompts for writing.
